My Christmas Eve Trip

Well, here it is Christmas Eve and I’ve got a lot of things to deliver, so I better get ready. There are so many people counting on me and I can’t let them down. I’ll let you in on a little secret; this is the highlight of my year.

I hope I don’t run into any bad weather during this Christmas Eve trip. I remember that last year was especially cold, and some places even had some serious snow. Well, there’s my trusty ride full of packages for all my precious regulars. I’m pleased with our packaging team the way they fill my vehicle for my night’s adventure. I’m delighted that everyone is so dedicated to making sure everything is just right.

So off I go on my annual trip to each house on this wonderful Christmas night. My first stop is at a little girl’s house. She has a cute little dog named Ruffles and I get along famously with him. Last year he greeted me enthusiastically and I gave him a treat. I have to carry a bag of treats wherever I go; otherwise, I would have to spend a lot of time petting each animal and unfortunately my schedule just won’t allow that. My next stop is an orphanage with many deserving kids. I usually leave a lot of items for them. I would love to see their faces when they open the packages I leave.

I like large groups of homes because I can deliver lots of things in a short amount of time. Sometimes I have to travel quite a ways between homes.  

Uh oh, the wind is picking up and it looks like I may run into a little snow flurry in this next town. I will be visiting quite a few houses in this little town this year. I can see that the Johnson family is going to have a good time opening their things.

Well, it’s been a long night, but I finally delivered my whole load of packages. I have a real sense of accomplishment and satisfaction doing what I do. I can truthfully say that I thoroughly enjoy my job as an Amazon driver.
